The aquatic area in the campsites is confirmed as the must have of 2023: here is the new project of Glamping Le Capanne

We announced it in a previous article on our blog: the new trend of fun is the aquatic area in campsites. To confirm the investments of the accommodation facilities to expand the offer and the entertainment of its visitors, a new, large and exciting project has arrived, which will be launched with the opening of the summer season 2023. This new aquatic area is branded New Dieresin and Ozlab FunFactory, a company specialized in the design of theme amusement parks, and will make your stay at Camping Village & Glamping Le Capanne, in Bibbona, in the province of Livorno even more surprising.

Large structures and theming down to the smallest detail

Camping Village & Glamping Le Capanne is the ideal structure for people looking for a holiday full of sport and fun in the lovely panorama of the Etruscan Coast, in Tuscany.

The project to renovate the water services includes a new unique attraction: a lagoon of about 1800 square meters, from which a themed sand castle of over 14 and a half meters high will rise.

The main part of the attraction is the huge sand castle, which will be themed with shells and water games. In the center, in fact, a large 1000-liter water bucket will tip on a shell-shaped roof, to create spectacular water features. From the spires of the castle, then, slides of different heights will branch off, surrounded by water cannons and games for the little ones. Finally, around the water surface, guests can relax in a solarium surrounded by greenery, or in the existing swimming pool area.

The extremely scenic structure will be visible from the Villa Aurelia tourist road, and will certainly not go unnoticed by passers-by.

An investment to make the visitors’ stay unforgettable

The new themed castle was created with a clear goal for the team of Camping Village Le Capanne: to offer visitors a captivating and unique attraction.

Simone Beltrami, director of Camping Village Le Capanne, tells us in detail: «This lagoon playground was born from our desire to create a “unicum” in the open-air environment to raise the quality of Le Capanne campsite. The new themed attraction will be a very rare structure for a campsite, probably unique in the Italian panorama, which required a lot of work from all the companies involved»The castle will become the beating heart of the structure, will entertain guests during the day and will be a place of entertainment in the evening: there will be events, shows and a particular lighting realized by a creative team specialized in lighting, virtual scenography and video mapping.

A teamwork: the collaboration with Ozlab

The big castle and the playground that will change the face of camping Le Capanne will be the result of teamwork, the one that has been created between our team, which is taking care of the construction of the slides and all the play structures, and that of Ozlab FunFactory, which is responsible for the design and implementation of the theming of the attraction.

«The idea of the sand castle had been in my mind for many years, even before the American park Schlitterbahn built a similar structure – reveals Marco Bressan, founder of Ozlab – Obviously I could not ignore the existence of this construction to analyze some technical problems, but our project is completely original and designed exclusively for the Tuscan camping ».An ambitious project, which involved various technical difficulties and careful planning: «The main challenge – continues Marco Bressan – is given by the fact that this is not the usual playground, covered with sets. It is a real building from which slides start, “spray” games interpenetrate and in the center of which there is a one-ton bucket of water that moves at regular intervals. Therefore, we had to resolve, starting with the interpenetration between the steel support structure and the scenographic “dress”: we had to maintain the lightness and proportion of the artistic concept and take into account other more practical aspects, such as anti-seismic or plumbing systems with the pipes for rising water, for example. All this must be present in the structure, but without distorting the theming».

The evolution of water fun: how the challanges of the sector change

No longer just water parks for water fun, then. By now the aquatic area in the campsites is the must have for summer 2023: «Campsites are starting to realize that leisure facilities and activities are essential – tells us Paola De Biasi, sales manager for the Italian market in New Dieresin – Visitors will be guests for a defined time, sometimes very long, regardless of the weather. And this is a big difference from the seasonality of water parks. The aquatic areas in campsites are now an important reality for our sector, in Italy and abroad. And I am convinced that the new castle of Le Capanne will be very successful next summer ».

A success that undoubtedly has solid foundations, those of the experience and know-how of the New Dieresin team. «Working with New Dieresin, who acted as a “forerunner”in this project, is always a pleasure – says Marco Bressan, owner of Ozlab – We have known each other for many years now and in addition to professional esteem there is also a good human relationship. I thank Paola because she left me total freedom and favored the direct relationship with the client, supporting the creative choices with true and mature professional competence ».

Process flexibility was also fundamental to the success of this project: «New Dieresin was selected from various companies for technical requirements and expertise – continues Simone Beltrami, director of Camping Village Le Capanne – Thanks to its technical skills, New Dieresin helped us in the fundamental choices to create the playground lagoon. The company proved to be professional and at the same time also prepared to face all the unforeseen events that have occurred in these two years of work. The professional and human relationship of its collaborators has been a winning mix for us! ».

Summer 2023, removed the veil on the large themed castle!

As a first step, the project should have been active as early as the 2022 season. The restrictions imposed by the pandemic, on the other hand, have temporarily slowed down the work which has now resumed at full capacity. Currently, in fact, the structure of the castle is in the assembly phase and will then be covered with the scenography, composed of freshly worked cement materials and enriched by scenographic details made separately and assembled on site. The attraction will therefore be ready to welcome all guests of the facility for the 2023 season.

We can’t wait to see it in action!
